To anticipate the increasing exploitation of natural resources as industrial raw materials, the government is encouraging the world effort to make savings and substitute raw materials that are easily renewable. Efficiency in energy use is one of the benchmarks for obtaining the title of green industry. The Green Industry Award is a program of the Ministry of Industry which is carried out every year. This award is given to industrial companies that have implemented resource saving patterns and used environmentally friendly and renewable raw materials and energy. The aim of organizing this program is to encourage the motivation of industrial companies to realize a green industry.

Assessment criteria :

Production Process: raw materials, water auxiliary materials, process technology, production results. (weight 70%) Company Management: production efficiency program, management system, awards received. (20% weight). Environmental Management: Provision of environmental quality raw materials, waste and emission management facilities, environmental management performance. (weight 10%)

In 2011 PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk, Cilacap, received the first Green Industry award which was handed over directly by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The Green Industry Award was given to PT. Holcim Indonesia Tbk Cilacap because this company has continuously and continuously innovated in implementing green industry principles. Efforts to save natural resources in real terms also continue to be carried out and result in some replacing natural resource raw materials using leftover materials industry. Handling internal waste with a zero waste concept is also part of the environmental awareness program.
