The Ministry of Trade will prepare a regulation for the minister of commerce aimed at facilitating the activities of electronic commerce business actors or "e-commerce" or online shops.
Agus Suparmanto as the Minister of Trade in Jakarta, Tuesday, stated that the Regulation of the Minister of Trade that will be published is a derivative of PP No 80 of 2019 regarding Trading Through Electronic Systems.
Currently the Ministry of Trade is still discussing with other stakeholders
“Derivatives of Government Regulation No. 80 are being discussed by the association, and will be communicated. There may be input that we need to follow up.
PP No 80 of 2019 regarding trade through electronic systems (PMSE Government Regulation) was issued with the aim of encouraging the development of an electronic system / online shop or commonly called E-Commerce or sustainable e-commerce in Indonesia.
In addition, the regulation aims to increase domestic product trade and to encourage exports.
The preparation of the PMSE Government Regulation is mandated in Article 65 of the Trade Law. PMSE Government Regulation to build “Consumer Trust” and “Consumer Convenience” by ensuring consumer protection and fair trade competition.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade, Oke Nurwan, said that the Minister of Trade derivative PP 80/2019 will be issued as soon as possible in order to protect entrepreneurs and consumers, because electronic commerce is so dynamic.
"Government regulations related to 'e-commerce' Number 80/2019 have been issued, only the implementing regulations must be issued so that there is business certainty for 'online' and 'offline' traders,"
The Minister of Trade Regulation will regulate the issue of guaranteeing the security of personal data that must be protected, both the data of entrepreneurs and buyers
In the preparation of the Minister of Trade, the licensing procedure is made as easy as possible and does not burden entrepreneurs. For example, individual entrepreneurs simply submit their Identity Cards and register through OSS.
In addition to Business Permits, other technical instructions regulated in PP 80/2019 include the obligation for PMSE entrepreneurs to prioritize the use of domestic goods and services .
Aims to increase the number of local entrepreneurs and domestic products in online trade which is currently seen as still relatively small.
In order to provide protection to consumers, entrepreneurs must comply with technical provisions, such as the Indonesian National Standard ( SNI ) and have product usage instructions.
